|theuppitywoman||04:59 pm - My vintage glasses|
A couple of people have asked for pics of my collection, so here it is. These 10 are the ones I wear on a day to day basis.
The front left red pair and back right navy pair are my favourites right now.
More 1950s frames waiting to have my lenses put into them, photgraphing them has me itching to take them to my optometrist.
Still more 50's frames; these ones are variously too fragile, too ugly, too small or just don't suit me. Yep, I'm a bit of a hoarder and really should get rid of these.
And finally these Victorian frames/lenses/arms that I just love the workmanship of.
Wow how cool. I really like the victorian ones. I would love to sport one of those to the office.
Is there a special store you go to, to have your prescription lenses put in? I've been dying to convert and old pair of cat-eyes to prescription with little help :(
Oh. And what a fabulous collection! So Jealous!
Nope, just my regular 'sells overpriced frames and contact lenses' optometrist in the main street of the nearest town. We have an 'all care but no responsibility' agreement each time but so far every frame has made it through re-lensing unscathed.
Wow, such a great collection. I love the kitten frames, like the ones Marilyn Monroe wore in How to Marry a Millionaire".
Thanks, I'm pretty in love with my glasses so it's nice that other people like them too.
wow, that is quite a collection you've amassed! frames here are really expensive, wish i could buy as many as yours and change them according to my mood. heehee :)
